Multiple charges laid for firearms offences

Surrey RCMP is advising the public that charges have been laid following a wanted man being arrested while allegedly in possession of loaded firearm.

On November 18, 2023 at approximately 2:15 a.m. Frontline Officers were conducting patrols in the 9100-block of King George Boulevard when they recognized a male from a previous incident who was wanted on outstanding warrants.

Officers arrested the man for outstanding warrants from Delta and Langley, BC. Subsequently, a loaded firearm was located on the man.

42-year-old, Ryan Michael Harker of Langley, BC, has been charged with five firearms related offences, one count of obstruction and one count of breach of release order.

Thankfully no bystanders were injured during the incident, says Cst. Parmbir Kahlon, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer. This is a great example of proactive police work resulting in the arrest of an individual to keep our community safe, added Kahlon.

As this matter is now before the courts, there will be no further details provided.
