Surrey RCMP investigates collision involving transit bus

 On October 24, 2023, at 3:15 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and transit bus near bus stop #54988, located on King George Boulevard just north of 96 Avenue.

Several frontline officers attended the scene, along with Surrey RCMP Traffic Services and the Criminal Collision Investigation Team.

A 69-year-old male, pedestrian was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The bus driver remained on scene and police are working to determine all circumstances that led to this collision.

The Criminal Collision Investigation Team has assumed conduct of the investigation and are asking for witnesses to come forward.

The preliminary investigation indicates there were several passengers on board the 321 bus and waiting at the bus stop when this incident occurred, says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer, Sergeant Tammy Lobb. Anyone travelling on board the bus, or waiting at the bus stop who witnessed this incident, is asked to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote police file 2023-177248.
